Sick Visits

We're here when you need us.

All Better: Sick Visits at Our Austin Pediatric Office

When your child is ill, you want them to feel better as quickly as possible. We do too! When childhood illnesses cause problems such as fevers, diarrhea or ear infections, you can count on our experienced team to evaluate and treat children and counsel parents.

Contact us for a sick visit: 512-327-0411.

Your child’s health drives every decision we make at our Austin pediatric office. Never hesitate to call for advice regarding whether or not to schedule an urgent care appointment or sick visit. Sometimes, we can give you strategies to treat the symptoms at home.

Same-Day Sick Visits

Our team will help expedite your child’s sick visit–from minimal time in the waiting room to sending an electronic prescription to the pharmacy in seconds–you and your child can both feel better soon. We reserve a significant portion of each day to seeing sick visits.

Call our office weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to schedule a sick visit appointment during regular office hours. We can also schedule appointments from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays through our after hours care. We see patients by appointment only.

Common Reasons to Call Our Austin Pediatric Office for a Sick Visit

Peak times for sick child visits occur each fall and winter during cold and flu season. We anticipate those busy times and adjust our office schedule to ensure that your child can be seen and treated as soon as possible. We divide our waiting area into two sections, Well Child and Sick Child, and thoroughly sanitize common areas.

To avoid unnecessary trips to the pediatric office, we have an awesome, free resource for Austin parents and caregivers.  The American Academy of Pediatrics provides a symptom checker for the most common childhood illnesses and injuries, from animal bites and bee stings to sore throats and earaches.

Visit the HealthyChildren.org symptom checker, or contact our 411 team to speak with a nurse or provider who can assess the situation prior to scheduling an appointment.

If you live in the Austin area, contact us here to schedule a sick visit. When leaving a message with the nurse or receptionist, please provide our Austin pediatric office with the following important details:

  • Your child’s name
  • Age
  • Symptoms and duration
  • Temperature
  • Therapies you’ve tried (Motrin, ice packs, fluids, etc.)
  • Contact phone number
