Adding your baby to your insurance

While it may seem obvious to your health insurance that you have delivered a baby (once those bills start coming in!), you do need to formally add your baby to your existing insurance policy before they will acknowledge (and pay) for your baby’s medical services. Most policies offer a short grace period for you to get affairs in order and obtain official documentation of your child’s birth. But, please make sure you take care of this small task on your to-do list soon. Your baby will have several appointments in the next several months!
