Flu Vaccine for 2015-16 season

Flu

Since we may hit 100 F again this weekend in Austin TX, it’s hard to think about winter cold and flu season. But, the flu vaccine for the 2015-16 season is arriving soon. That way, we are all prepared and protected before the influenza viruses show up.

Every year is somewhat unpredictable when it comes to flu, as well as the distribution of the flu vaccine.

Manufacturers tell us that the popular Flumist nasal spray vaccine should ship sometime in October. They are starting to ship a small fraction of the flu shots for babies, older kids, and adults to offices and pharmacies—and will continue to do so in small batches with plenty of time prior to flu season.

So, while big box pharmacies may be advertising their flu vaccines, there really is not much to give at the moment.

We will keep you posted as we receive our shipments of flu vaccine. Thanks for your patience!
