From all of us at 411 Pediatrics, we wish you a happy and safe Halloween! Yolanda and Megan (aka Rainbow Fish and Ariel) won our staff costume contest. We thought they had the most timely costumes since Austin was literally underwater today!

Here are a few tips to keep your trick or treaters safe and healthy:

1. Walk, don’t run. Those adorable costumes can lead to tripping, falling, and unpleasant boo-boos.

2. Stick with a grown-up. Remind kids that it is their holiday, but adult supervision is a must.

3. Eat the candy at home. Not only is this a chance for you to inspect the stuff, it is also a great way to limit how much is eaten! Set up a healthy limit–maybe a piece a day for a couple of weeks and then donate the rest.
